This past Saturday we took the girls to see Thomas the Tank Engine. We drove to Thomaston Connecticut. It took about two hours to get there. We left the house at 7 am (the girls were up anyway!). We got there about 45 minutes before our train ride.
The girls knew we where going to see Thomas but I don't think they understood. They watched Peter Pan for the ride up and were very good in the car!
When we got there we stopped at the restrooms and then headed on line. Good thing because this train time was sold out (they have train rides every 45 minutes). We were the third family in line. Perfect for when Thomas came rolling in!
Here is Bill and the girls waiting in line. Elena was obessessed with the rocks on the floor and kept playing with them! Her white pants were black by the time we got home!
In the distance, they have all different tents set up and a blow up Thomas that the kids can jump in!
As Thomas came closer, you could hear his whistle blowing! And they got really excited
Here they are looking for him to come around the corner
And then they saw him! Carolina's jaw dropped and Elena kept pointing at him!
Their reaction was worth it!
Good old Thomas! It was pretty cool, it looked just like him!
They had four coach cars hooked up to Thomas. We were in Coach #4 which was the first coach train. We waited for everyone to come aboard and then the conductor spoke and played Thomas songs. Both Carolina and Elena knew all the words! Carolina recognized the cd from Grandma's car :)
Elena was very patient on the train ride, she sat still and try to get up! Very surprising!
The train was decorated with Thomas decorations
The number of our train
Carolina looked out the window for almost the whole ride. It lasted approximately 25 minutes

You just want to squeeze those cheeks
Smiley...
Still looking out the window
This was the scenary! It was really beautiful, we rode along this river and there was beautiful landscapes and waterfalls

The conductor was nice enough to take a picture of us!
Still looking out
Elena clapping to the music
At the end of the train ride, the girls both got certificates that said they are Certified Junior Engineers
Elena loved the stars and kept pointing to them

After our train ride, we got a professional picture taken with Thomas, while we waited for the picture, we let the girls go jumping. They absolutely loved it!

I couldn't get Elena out of it!
Elena would either sit or stand there and just laugh hysterically!
So cute
The kids would run up to the end and bounce of the wall
In motion

When we finally got the kids out of the bouncer, we took them to the different tents that were set up. They had a mini zoo with live animals. Another tent was called Imagination where it had different toys and stations to play with. Another tent had model railroads set up! And we also headed over to the Gift Shop tent! We bought the girls t-shirts, a train, a bucket and we got Carolina a lunchbox Thomas!

This was outside the Gift Shop Tent

Here is the professional picture that was taken!

We even saw Sir Topman Hatt but the line to take a picture was ridiculous!

We headed home...where it took 4 hours...due to the rain they shut down one of the highways! The girls were great, they watched Peter Pan again (1 1/2 times) and Thomas!
We had such a great time! We are so happy that their first train ride was on Thomas!
